  Hi Cleo,

  I recommend that you do the following:

  1. Google keywords, followed by "filetype:pdf"
  2. Search keywords on publisher websites or metasites - I found ResearchGate, ScienceDirect to be very useful
  3. If you are enrolled as a student (or have connections), your university might have a subscription allowing extended access to published articles. You're limited to open-access articles otherwise, unless you find them elsewhere on the web.
  4. I found that, unfortunately, most research articles on drilling and blasting tends to be published in conference proceedings, e.g. Fragblast - these are difficult to find and that's a real nuisance. Google Scholar is helpful here.
  5. Try to find Master's or PhD theses from mining schools. They usually are extensive (obviously) and give some excellent insights. I found University of Lulea (Sweden) and Queen's University (Canada) to be good sources of high quality theses.
  6. Whenever you read an article, read the reference list! This is a good way to really get started.
