Surface Miner and Block Model

Hi all,

I was wondering whether I could some advice about using surface miners (Vermeer, Wirtgen type, they mined a 1m thick slice per pass, approx) and the size of the blocks (mainly "Z" dimension) in the block model and the implications of having a "Z" several times the mining thickness. Would a reduction of the sampling length (close to the mining thickness) help to get a more accurate plan of the mined rock or would it just add more noise to the whole proccess?

Thanks in advance

Regards

Martin

  • Hi sir,

Well if you ask me I will say sampling length reduction will give accurate results but I will say to add noise to the whole process.
