Hi Fred, we considering to use it because our consultant Long Term Planner used to design and schedule the pit. Therefore I want to learn more before making a decision.
Cheers

Hi Tefo,
this is just me, but since you're still debating it and because these packages are a big investment financially and also time-wise because of integrating it with your current system, this sounds like a very good opportunity for you, other users and the IT department to go on a business trip to Jo'burg to visit all the software suppliers that you're interested in and have them give you a proper demo or even a demo license plus sample material (or have them come down instead) :-)
Cheers,
Fred
Wow thanks Fred,
This is really insightful. I never actually looked at it from that angle. I'll sure out such a proposal after lockdown.
Cheers
Glad to have given some inspiration :-)
As an intern I've had the opportunity to witness a software integration, these things are not done overnight. Expect resistance and frustration.
You could start by having the stakeholders/departments document their wants, needs and the existing data management & structure. In the end it'll be a compromise but at least everyone will be on a similar page once lockdown ends, which means that your choice will be more informed and you will also have saved some (billable) time.
Fred
Hi Tefo,
neither affiliated with nor knowledgable about Datamine, just curious.
Do you use Datamine at your current job or does your company want to implement it?
Cheers,
Fred
