Stand By Machine/Back To Work

On many countries, the resumption of Mining operations will be done gradually, after weeks of being halted due to the covid-19 pandemic.

Regarding Caterpillar 7495 Electric Rope Shovels on standby, and getting back to work please consider the following recommendations:

- Run a complete Machine Inspection both mechanical and electrical. 8+ hours.

- Inspect the High Voltage Collector Rings and gently remove any signs of rust on the Rings, check the shoes, also clean the compartment from excess grease, and or water. Very important to follow up all safety procedures before entering into this area.

- Check the Low voltage collector rings integrity, brushes, holders, remove any sign of moisture.

- Heaters settings for the Siemens room and House machinery should be set back to their original values as commissioned.

- Exercise the Shovel by rotating at least 400° in each direction to assure full swing rack circumference is burnished.

- During the first hours of operation maintain close observation for unusual vibration, noise, hot operating bearings in order to assure adequate lubrication of gearing.
