Hello everyone my name is Moustapha Kebe am student of mining engineering at Acharya Institute of technology affiliated to Visvesvaraya technological University in India. As the platform serve the purpose of learning and consist of experience mining professional, currently am doing my final year and we have to do a final year project (which should be beneficial for the mining industry, something innovative, should be in need and applicable to current mining industry, also should be able to complete within a 10 months).
My question to all is as experienced professionals and some working in the field already, I am looking for a project on surface mine which can obeyed the above criteria.
Even though I have done some internships in surface mine but I don't have an Idea of the current mining situation what is in demand and need to be looked into?what project work can you suggest me to do and that would benefit me on field as am going to be graduating and start working on the field?
Here are the topics which I was thinking of doing :
- cost and maintenance of equipment related to production
-Tribology (reducing the energy consumption, wears, friction between all the equipment that interact with the the earth, rock, ore...) Resulting in enhancing the lifetime of machines
- Tailings (concept of zero waste mining)
- studying the replacement policy of any equipment by making a model which can predict the failure based on the past failure data and help in replacing the equipment before it fails ( resulting in reducing the breakdown time, cost of emergency replacement)
If any suggestions I will be looking forward to..and kindly share your ideas of what you think is more worthy of doing a project on.
