Hello colleagues,

I’ve worked in the mining industry for several years as a metallurgist, primarily supporting plant operations and flotation circuit optimization. Over time, I moved into product management roles within mining tech, focusing on helping sites solve technical and performance challenges.

On the side, I’ve also taught myself full-stack development and become increasingly interested in how digital tools, AI, and field-centric interfaces could improve how metallurgists and plant engineers work — especially when it comes to calculations, surveys, and daily decision-making.

A few months ago, I launched an app with online calculators for common plant calculations (grinding media wear, hydrocyclone performance, slurry properties, etc.).

But I’ve now paused to re-evaluate.

The tools I built solved my problems — but they didn’t necessarily reflect the broader community’s needs. There’s been very little traction, and that tells me I missed something important: real field validation.

So now I’m restarting the journey from first principles.

I'm reaching out here because I’d like to reconnect with real practitioners across the plant, technical services, and metallurgy community to better understand where tools are actually needed — and what problems are worth solving.

If you're willing to share:

🔹 What plant calculations or tools do you rely on most today — and where do they fall short?
🔹 What manual or spreadsheet-based tasks frustrate you the most?
🔹 What would you love to automate, simplify, or have at your fingertips during fieldwork or reporting?

This is not a pitch — I’m not selling anything. Just an engineer trying to build something useful again, and this time with input from the people who actually use it.

Here’s the early version if you're curious:

I'd really appreciate any comments, or even just DMs if you'd prefer to respond privately.

Thanks in advance — and I'm grateful for any insights you're willing to share.
