I have worked in the industry for 15 years, my speciality is communications and technology, with a spread of work in UG and Open Pit operations around the world (easily over 100 mines). I have never been FIFO, and am not opposed to it, except where there is a community near the mining operation that supports residential. I lived in Kalgoorlie for 6 years, Perth for 3.5 years (though originally from Perth) and most recently here in the USA in Colorado for the past 5.5 years.
I am happy to share my knowledge and experience to help others in this forum, and I am expecting to learn and develop from what you all share also. My strengths are in UG and Open Pit communications technologies (Wi-Fi, Radio, LTE), RFID, Automation, basically utilising technology to improve safety and production efficiency, and most recently I have been providing innovative Maintenance solutions through my contract with ONYX InSight (a Castrol company).
I am currently planning a trip down to Australia for the 100 years of Castrol Australia celebrations in Sydney week of 3rd June where I will present to my colleagues at Castrol Mining our ONYX InSight portfolio that is applicable to Mining. We build Online Condition Monitoring and PdM solutions that are accurate and affordable and will offer that along side Castrol where applicable. I will be in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth between the 3rd June and 25th June - if you have any interest in hearing how we enable mines to have a holistic view of their critical mining equipment maintenance, please reach out!
